Tax help

Need more time? Let's file your extension.

An extension buys you months to file, as long as you handle the payment side correctly.

Prepared by real tax specialists — with Enrolled Agent or CPA review when your return calls for it.

An extension (Form 4868) gives you more time to file your return, typically until mid-October. What it does not do is give you more time to pay.

If you expect to owe, you should estimate that amount and pay it by the original deadline, because interest and a late-payment penalty can apply to anything unpaid after that date even with an extension in place.

Filing an extension is routine and very common. It simply gives us the room to prepare a complete, accurate return rather than rushing it.

What we do

How we help

  • File your federal and state extensions on time
  • Estimate what you owe so you can pay by the deadline
  • Set up a payment plan if you can't pay in full
  • Prepare and file the full return before the extended deadline
  • Make sure state extension rules are handled, since they can differ
FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Does an extension delay my payment too?

No. An extension only delays filing. Anything you owe is still due by the original deadline, so we help you estimate and pay it to avoid penalties and interest.

Is it bad to file an extension?

Not at all. An extension is routine and does not increase your audit risk. It simply gives us time to file an accurate, complete return.

What if I can't pay what I owe by the deadline?

File on time or extend, pay what you can, and we can help set up a payment plan for the rest. Paying something reduces the penalties and interest that build on the unpaid balance.
